First Weatherd Loco Class 37 EWS

There are lots of weathering powders out there but i seams to always like painting with Gamesworkshop stuff and its always hard to get to the local hoby shop as its about an hour away and NZ prices for anything it to much i prefer importing. So i went and got some Forge World weathering powders price was good and it they did not work on my train i could try that out on my warhammer.

So first up my Class 37 EWS that i got of ebay for cheap due to the bad weathering job on it. This is a Rare model now and hard to come by so i jumpped the chance to get one. After a bit of nail polish remover i managed to get all the weathering off thanks to the last owner to sealing with a varnish :-)

So this is the before and after shots. Also this loco and since been converted to DCC sound also i will have a video up on my youtube channel soon with it running.

Tyranids (2010)

This is my Nid army i started building when the 4th ed codex was out, when the 5th codex came out it killed the lists kick, they do ok but the lack of biomorphs you can do now have killed them. These have also been tucked away till something changes. I will try and get a fully complete pic up but the ones below are of them almost complete.

Eldar Display Board

Since i am trying to win a paint trophy as i have not won one since 2009 :-(. This will be i think my 4th new army since then and i have put alot of time and cash into this one. Since i have all the nice bases i wanted to do a nice display. I bought some instant mould from Coolmin or not and gave it a try. This stuff is good. to bad the one pack does not go far if you want to make large moulds. So i have been stuck casting one at a time. This is my progress so far and its looking ok its about 2 weeks from battlecry and it looks like i need to cast about 100 of these up. Bugger!!!. That is hard for me with work and the wife and kids but i am detemind to get this done. I will put some updates up when more is complete.

The Eldar 2011

This is my Eldar the army i will be playing with for the next 12 months, the games i have had with these have all been good. I really enjoy playing with them. They have been to one tornament so far and did well as i only have 2 games with them  before i went and the tornament was NZ masters 2011 so play testing with the best in NZ was good. Next tornament is in two weeks at Battlecry 2012 and i hope they do well.

Crimson Fists (Work in progress)

This is my crimson fists they where meant to be the army before my Eldar but i just got tierd of painting marines and wanted something new. This is the paint style i have lined up and i already have the whole army just wating to be painted. I will be working on these after i have completed my Rogue trader reapint.

Bloodwing (2011)

This is my Bloodwing, i wanted to remake a new blood angel army but when the 5th ed codex came out i was unhappy with it and could not make up a new list. Then Spacehulk came out with some wonderfull models that i wanted. So the Bloodwing idea came up, also forgeworld also had brought out the MK2b land raider what i was keen to use. I dont normaly use landraiders in my armys but the fit in fine with a Deathwing army. After about 6 months of work i got them finished. They played well even with there old Codex but i did have issues with some of the newer codex fights. These will be played again when the new 6th ed Darkangel codex comes out.

Rogue trader Ultra Marines (2009)

This is my Rogue trader army i started painting about 2007 and finished in 2009, i was never happy with the end result but i finished them and did win best army, they played like crap and overall a disapointment. But since then i have changed this army alot and removed some units and add in some more old school stuff i have found Mk1 speeders and land raiders and attack bikes and a mk1 pred. I have just started repainting these guys as i have just finished my Eldar. Some pics will be up shortly on the new paint job.
